(S)-2-Amino-N-((S)-1-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-3-oxopropan-2-yl)-3-methylbutanamide is an intermediate in the synthesis of Aureusimine A (A794560), a metabolite of non-ribosomal origin produced by Staphylococcus aureusan, formed by the fusion of two amino acids. Aureusimine A was shown to exert control over the virulence cascade responsible for Golden Staph infection.
