iso-Butylbenzene is used as a reagent in the synthesis of 1,1-Bis(p-isobutylphenyl)ethane (B448875); an impurity in the synthesis of Ibuprofen (I140000). Also a reagent in the synthesis of quinoline-substituted furanone derivatives as selective falcipain-2 inhibitors.
