Titanium(IV) Chloride activates pyrrolidines for improved conversion, via a modified Bouveault reaction, to the corresponding α,α-dimethylamines. Titanium(IV) Chloride is used as a catalyst in the decoloration of C9 fraction which was steamed out in the preparation of petroleum resin.
